Custom Apps & APIs
The tool you keep wishing existed. I'll build it.
Off-the-shelf software gets you most of the way. The part it misses is usually the part that makes your business yours. So somebody builds a spreadsheet to cover the gap, then a second spreadsheet to reconcile the first, and now that's the system.
When the right tool doesn't exist, I build it. Small, specific applications that do one job properly: a dashboard that pulls from every system you own, a portal your customers can log into, the API that sits between two things that were never meant to talk. I do the product thinking and I write the code, so there's no handoff to lose things in.
Key outcomes
Solve unique problems
You get the tool your business needs, not the closest thing on a pricing page.
Centralize your data
One screen that pulls live from every system you own, so nobody exports anything to compare it.
Enhance user experience
Built to the standard of the products I've shipped for other companies, not of an internal tool nobody owns.
Service offerings
I build the core of it first, put it in front of the people who'll use it, and add from there. You own the code and the accounts it runs on, from day one.
Internal dashboards
The numbers you check every morning, pulled live from your CRM, your support desk, and Stripe, instead of assembled by hand.
Customer portals
Somewhere your customers can log in to see their account, their history, and their documents, so they stop emailing you for it.
Job-specific tools
Small apps for the processes that don't fit a generic tool: onboarding a new hire, quoting a nonstandard job, tracking something only you track.
Full-stack development
React on the front, Node and Postgres behind it, hosted somewhere you control. Same stack I use on my own products.
Results
You end up with a tool that does what you need and nothing else, which is why it stays fast and stays understandable. The spreadsheets it replaced get archived, and the errors that came from retyping between them go with them.
See it in practice: Street Sketch, a custom app built end to end on the Google Maps, Gemini, and Printful APIs.
